Anyone at any age can learn the basics of computer programming; but you've got to be the barracuda and not the porpoise! Don't be afraid! You WILL make mistakes, and that's ok...just go for it! Once you are comfortable with this, then you will be ready to code with your students. And once you begin to code with your students, you'll wonder how you ever taught without it!

More important than learning how to read and write in a specific computer language is practicing and perfecting what is now being called "computational thinking." And even though not every student will become a computer programmer, the problem solving and logic processing experiences they gain through exposure to coding will benefit them regardless of what they do or become in their later years.

In this session we will talk about ways to introduce coding to students in grades K-12. For the majority of the time participants will be working "hands on," coding, coding, coding! It's time to step up and become the barra"code"a I know you all can be!
